Cody Ford’s wallet is a little heavier now, the Bills will never know.
In the wild card round, from the overtime of the Bills’ playoff loss to the Houston Texas, a questionable penalty goes to Ford. Ford gets flagged as an illegal blindside block in the back, on a Josh Allen run.
Allen could set up at 55 Yard game-winning kick attempt for the Bills as it would have been fourth down regardless, but instead, Ford’s penalty put the Bills way back.
Bills and their fans were very upset because of that very questionable penalty. Buffalo punted & the ensuring Texans’ drive ended in the game-winning kick. NFL slapped him with typical $28,075 associated with the penalty.

Maybe a bit of justice?
Declared on Thursday by Ford and still stated, “ I still believed I did nothing wrong.”
Thank you Bills’ fans…the amount you raised through the Go Funds me for my fine was donated to charity. The fine was reduced to just over 4k. I still believe I did nothing wrong #BillsMafia
- Cord Ford
The more silver lining is that charity- Bills Mafia started a Go Fund to pay for Ford’s fine. Though Ford is not gonna to tap into that to pay it, he says money is going to charity instead.
On third & 9 in overtime against Houston on January 4, Bills quarterback Josh Allen scrambled 4 yards to the Texans! 38 yard live to bring up fourth down that is third & 24 after the 15 – yard penalty on Ford.
Buffalo failed to convert & ultimately lost on a game-winning Texans field goal. The second-round pick out of Oklahoma, Ford initiated 15 games in 2019.
And declared on social media the fine reduction Thursday and also repeated the disagreement about the penalty.
