At IFA 2019, HMD Global revealed a lot of new handsets. But the Nokia 7.2 is the most exciting of its Android batch of smartphones, hosting a mid-range processor paired with a hot new 2019 design.
For the Nokia brand lovers, it’s mostly a no-brainer and they are waiting for the company to launch in the US. There have been no official details about its releases but a few retailers gave indications of early pre-orders.
It has a Snapdragon 660 processor along with 4 or 6 GB of RAM and 64 or 128 GB of storing capacity. The 6.3-inch 2280×1080 screen is a good and efficient one but nothing spectacular about it. To capture it in a nutshell, the Nokia 7.2 sticks to the basics, except for a breathtaking rear-mounted fingerprint scanner.
Do not be mistaken, it does have a few more high-end features, but nothing that stands out amongst its competitors. One of them is the triple camera system that’s fixed in a circular path along with an LED flash.
After Huawei, Apple, and even Google recently haven taken to the square, it appears that other OEMs are looking at a more rounded design. It remains to be seen if those three sensors will live up to its promise.
As mentioned earlier, there has been no word about its official release. But that hasn’t stopped either of B&H Photo or Best Buy who have put up the Nokia 7.2 for pre-order, with B&H displaying a September 16 date at the start of that period. Both refused to reveal an exact date, however.
Nokia 7.2 comes at $350, another example of HMD Global’s strategy of putting affordable and updated Android phones and it looks like they are reaping rewards for such a bold move. The phone will be available in charcoal and cyan green colors for now.
