On the one hand, Disney + is giving us another very cool doggo due to the December 20 premiere of the original film of Balto, a true story Togo-based streaming film.
Set against the backdrop of the 1925 life-saving anti-diphtheria serum that runs in the city of Nome, Alaska, Togo stars Village Defoe in real-life dog sled trainer Leonhard Sepala (as seen in the video below), But the real star is the film Tito Togo, a 12-year-old Siberian husband who medicated the people of Phnom while leading his team over 261 miles.
The longest distance, known as the “Great Race of Mercy”, was crossed by the disciple and must be remembered as a hero, but as the more famous Balto completed the final 55-mile journey, So he agreed to every one.
Now, the film tells the true story of Togo’s bravery, and just how he played a key role in delivering the drug to the city suffering from the deadly outbreak of Diphtheria.

There is no denying that Balto is still a good guy, but Togo has a long time to make headlines. After all, Balto was 3 years old when he raced those last 55 miles to deliver serum to Aurum.
Meanwhile, his doggie co-worker was 12 years old, and Balto and his team had to walk more than twice a mile under several harsh conditions to get through the serum. Togo was also a literal Dalit from the beginning.
Fortunately, for the people of Phnom, Togo was not going to leave his place on Seppala’s team without a fight, and Togo reportedly jumped through a window and went back towards the breeder.
Soon he worked up the ranks to lead the pack on sledding expeditions, proving him to be faster than his teammates as well as a capable leader. These qualities prompted Sepala to put his faith in Togo when news came that the isolated city of Phnom was in dire need of a drug during a deadly winter.
Teams of dogs were assembled to move life-saving serum across the frozen lands, with no aircraft or trains to enter the city. The expedition no doubt filled the canine with heroines, but Togo not only drove his team the most miles, but he also traveled to the most dangerous of journeys.
At times, temperatures go below 50 degrees below zero and whiteouts emanating from the snowstorm obscure the trail. By doing all this, Togo faithfully led Sipala and her team during the “Great Race of Mercy”.
