For Halloween, Nordstrom gave us a treat: some very cool Nike shoes.

The iconic footwear brand teamed up with Fashion Insider and Nordstrom VP of Creative Projects to launch Olivia Kim’s’ 90s inspired collection called “No Covers”, which features a limited-edition, one-of-a-kind redesign of classic Nike Shoes, Apparel, and accessories.

Kim says she was inspired to create a collection of Nike’s vibrant, nostalgic and playful reimaginings that we all grew up with.

“I’ve been a longtime fan and collector fond of Nike sneakers”, Kim says. “Growing up in the 90s, I could never find the most iconic shoes of my size. The opportunity to relive some of the most iconic shoes I’ve been in for decades has been a dream project.”

The Nike x Olivia Kim Air Force 1 ($ 120) combines a hip-hop staple silhouette with a neon and royal blue color – with a Snakeskiv swoop and Corduroy upper.

Our favorite shoe in the collection is the Nike x Olivia Kim Air Footscape ($ 150), which has been a cult classic since its launch in 1996 but gets a new update with a zebra-print upper and subtle pink accents.

The most buzzing design (which is bound to sell as fast as Kate Middleton has worn) is the Nike x Olivia Kim Air Jordan IV ($ 190).

Kim’s version of the original Air Jordan design paid tribute to Michael Jordan’s nickname – “Black Cat” – with an all-black colorway and a hair upper for a stunning texture.

Additionally, the collection features costumes that Kim says were inspired by his teenage wardrobe of the 90s.

The Air Max 98 logo tee ($ 55) features a hand-drawn graphic of the sneaker, created in the style of old-school phone ads.

The Mock Neck Tennis Dress ($ 90) screams Sporty Spice, and an extra-refreshing-looking neon puffer coat ($ 240) stands apart from the thrill of mountaintop-ready black insulated jackets.
Kim has also included some can-beat old school t-shirt designs, a peace sign bean, a fuzzy fanny pack and some Betty Bop costumes in the collection.

Although the inclusion of the cartoon character may differ from the rest of the design, Kim assured that it did not.

To her, Betty Bopp is a character who represents all kinds of women “ana-sharp” – and as much of an inspiration for her style as the artists and athletes featured in the campaign, including Megan Includes Rapinoe, model Binx Walton, and director-writer John Waters.

For Kim, the collection is a tribute to one that has been coming for a long time. “This collection that pays homage to New York is highly personal to me — it’s where I am from and where I grew up and where I started my career — and the ’90s was a meaningful and formal one in my life had time”, it is said.

“The pieces symbolize self-expression and individualism and create a warm feeling of careless indifference. Inclusion is very important to me, and I hope this capsule has something for everyone”

The entire Nike x Olivia Kim capsule is now available exclusively at Nordstrom x Nike boutiques in Chicago, Los Angeles, New York, and Seattle, and at Nordstrom.com.
