Pete Davidson is already over the first hurdle in his relationship with Margaret Qualley – he’s in her mother’s good books. Andie MacDowell has commented on her actress daughter’s romance with the Saturday Night Live star, and is a big fan of Pete, despite not having met him yet.
The Four Weddings And A Funeral star told People that she thinks Pete, 25, and Margaret, 24, have a ‘beautiful relationship’, and you can’t get higher praise from an in-law than that.
Andie, 61, said: ‘I FaceTimed with Pete the other day or no, she took a video of me to send to Pete, that’s what it was. ‘She has a lovely connection with him but I do not want to step on her relationship too much. They have a nice relationship.’
It was reported last month that Once Upon A Time In Hollywood star Margaret was ‘quietly dating’ Pete, with the young stars sparking a romance over the summer. And their romance was pretty much confirmed as the pair were seen holding hands while taking some time out at Venice Film Festival.
Margaret – the youngest daughter of MacDowell and her ex-husband Paul Qualley – is an Emmy nominated actress, receiving the nod for her role in Fosse/Verdon, and has also starred in IO, The Nice Guys, and Death Note.
While Margaret has plenty of high profile engagements on her plate, at least her new beau is used to his relationships being in the spotlight. The comedian previously dated Larry David’s daughter Cazzie, before he embarked on a whirlwind engagement with Ariana Grande.
Pete popped the question after just three weeks of dating last June, but by October, the young couple had broken up – with Ari singing about the romance in her smash hit Thank U, Next, with the lyric: ‘Even almost got married, and for Pete, I’m so thankful.’ Then, the Saturday Night Live star had an even more unlikely romance in the form of Kate Beckinsale.
