BMW has established the new X5 Protection VR6, a security automobile built on the body of a BMW X5.
The automaker asserts that the car offers customized protection for personal people via the car’s armor plating and safety glazing.
The vehicle has similar driving characteristics, design, and interior as the production model X5. But unlike the basic production model, the X5 Protection has an armor plating of high durability steel, multilayered security glass, an intercom, and an assault alarm system.
Instead of these protective boosts, the automaker claims the vehicle seems to be anonymous and conventional. The extra weight of the protective armor and gear does not affect its driving abilities, as said by BMW. Driving facets, such as the suspension and brakes on the X5 Protection VR6, have been aligned to the boosted weight.
As per the automaker, the car can conserve against AK-47 bullets, hand grenades, and a drone assault. The automobiles also have incorporated “Post Blast Protective Technology”, which enables the windows to stay in position after an explosives blast.
The car can slam 110 kph in 5.9 seconds and has aa maximum speed that is electronically restricted to 210 kph. The car possesses a self-sealing fuel tank that prevents fuel spillage in an attack. The extra steel and fiber composite reinforcement are beneficial against DTG5-type drone assaults, up to 200 grams of C4 and 500 grains.
The armor-plated floors can conserve against hand grenades like the DM51, and the rest underbody reinforcement is beneficial against HG85-type hand grenades.
The entrance height of the front windows can be restricted to 10 centimeters to make the transmission of thoughts or the exchange of documents safer. There is an intercom that enables communication between the inner and the exterior of the vehicle.
