While a number of big celebrations are still in full swing ahead to respect the nominees for the 71st Emmy Awards, 2019 marks a pullback from many party-giving regulars. And there is a whole spectrum of reasons, encompassing a move by all the talent agencies to discontinue their annual soirees, the merger of companies like Disney and Fox and the judgment of Women in Film to donate the money they would have put in a party to go rather to Planned Parenthood.
But for now, there are still plenty of so you can turn to in order to strut your stuff on the red carpet, gorge on world-class bites and have a sip of top-shelf spirits and the finest wines and for that matter, even carry home a goodie bag while celebrating the best of the small screen.
However, as always, these events are personal and by invitation only. One of them is L.A. Confidential Emmy Celebration Hosted by Linda Cardellini which will be held at Kimpton Everly Hotel, 1800 Argyle Avenue, Hollywood on Wednesday, Sept. 18, 7 p.m.
Hitting off the nightly party rounds is LA Confidential magazine’s bash featuring Linda Cardellini, their Fashion + Emmys Issue cover celeb. She is expected to be there and possibly some of the other hot actors that profited, including 2019 nominees, Lena Headey, Justin Baldoni, Reid Scoot and Laverne Cox.
Another such event that took place was Directors Nominee Reception held at Directors Guild of America, 7920 Sunset Blvd., Hollywood on Wednesday, Sept. 18, 7:30 p.m.
In the event Television Academy joined hands with the DGA to honor all the director competitors with a reception that drew almost all the prominent names of the Tv industry, encompassing “Game of Thrones” nominees David Benioff, D.B. Weiss, David Nutter, and Miguel Sapochnik along with “Barry” director-creator-star Bill Hader.
While some have discontinued annual parties, others are simply starting their Emmy season customs, like Australians in Film, who established this luncheon prizing the accomplishments of Aussie women in television.
InStyle Australia Magazine and handbag company State of Escape join together to invite everyone who has any role in Australian TV to Curtis Stone’s locale for a meal and a chat with guests that included Bruna Papandrea (“Big Little Lies”), Liz Flahive and Carly Mensch (“GLOW”) and other powerful entertainers.
