Facebook might be currently working on coming up with a feature to its platform that was recently introduced on Instagram. Chat stickers on Instagram became instantly popular among users that allowed them to start group chats right from the stories. The love we humans have to just talk!
Facebook is allegedly testing the same idea in its app, right beside the ‘Create Post’ section. The social media platform is continuously citing ways to increase usage. Using Chat stickers on Instagram, individuals can ask their followers to join a group chat on a particular topic. The followers can then request to join the chat and it’s up to the original poster of the chat so as to who should be allowed. After attaining approvals, all the users will be added to a group chat to discuss the topic.

The feature was discovered by Jane Wong who is well known for leaking features before they are publicly available. If we are to listen to app researcher Jane Wong, Facebook is researching with this feature as well. Instead of depending on stories, a new ‘Chat’ option is appearing in the list while creating a new post. Tapping on the Chat option brings up a small card in the post with ‘Chat’ and ‘Add people’ buttons. If this is similar to how the one on Instagram works, users can now request to join the chat and or be added by the original poster before even posting.
Wong even tweeted regarding the same. According to the tweet, the feature will work exactly like the Instagram sticker and will allow users to join chats with ease. There is no timeline on when the feature will be available but it will surely be helpful to users who currently have to manually add people to a group chat on Facebook.
This feature is not visible in the Facebook for Android app for now. Just like every tiny new feature, it will see a gradual rollout once the testing is successfully done.
