Google’s mesh Wi-Fi router — Google Wifi — is almost three years old, but it may be giving a radically distinct design next month.
9to5 Google is documenting that the firm is getting ready a new “Nest Wifi” that attaches a single new hub router with two modern “beacons” that will make twice as much as Google Assistant smart speakers, providing you with the equal of two additional Google Home Mini speakers to enclose additional rooms of your home with both Wi-Fi and sound.

You may report that Google would be properly copying Amazon’s second-gen Eero router by getting on with a pair of beacons to broaden Wi-Fi coverage over your house, which could have positives and negatives.
In our review, we established the second-gen Eero to be just as eligible as the first-gen model overall, but it does not necessarily transmit as much bandwidth at the beacons as Eero’s full-size routers do.
But Amazon still does not possess smart speakers ingrained in its routers, having only got Eero earlier this year, so that is a chance that Google could take benefit of first.
It would not be the first time Google’s doubled up on smart home gadgets, either: the firm took some flak in February for exporting a secret microphone in the Nest Secure alarm that it later on accessed for Google Assistant.
They will reportedly be backward compatible with the actual Google Wifi routers, and they will debut with some modern Google Assistant commands to let you halt the internet to specific devices or rooms. (This could be helpful for parents.)
That is everything we realize from 9to5Google’s references, but we may have already heard extra: there were well-known guesses earlier this spring regarding a Google codename.
