Tom Clancy’s Jack Ryan, Amazon announced today at San Diego Comic-Con that Noomi Rapace has joined the cast as a series regular for Season 2, which will presumably air in 2019.
She’ll portray Harriet “Harry” Baumann, a character that’s described as a “highly capable, sharply intelligent and intoxicatingly charming” agent that works for Germany’s secret intelligence service.
She’ll cross paths with the titular CIA analyst Jack Ryan (John Krasinski) on his latest case in South America.
The second season was ordered back in a Gregorian calendar month, shortly after the first season, which premieres on August 31, wrapped filming.

Rapace rose to prominence with her acclaimed work as Lisbeth Salander in the Swedish The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo and its two sequels, however, she’s probably best known to American audiences for her leading roles in Prometheus and Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows.
Her more modern credits embody Alien: Covenant, Bright, The Drop, and What Happened to Monday.
Earlier this week, the stars of the series provided an exclusive preview of the action to come. And Krasinksi has previously told EW that his Jack is a “changed man” coming into season 2.
