Kobo has updated their UI and made it more comfortable for those who love taking notes and bookmarking while they read. Last year Kobo released the Forma e-reader. Recently Kobo released the Kobo Libra H2O. The looks and external hardware of this device are apparently the same as Forma. Kobo Libra H2O has a 7 inch, 1680×1264, 300ppi E ink display.

The Forma, however, had an 8-inch display. The button configuration of both the devices is however kept the same. Libra H2O is lighter than the Forma. It is available in 2 colors white and black. Libra H2O has 8 GB of storage however Forma has 32 GB.

There are minor differences between Forma and Libra. Libras don’t use mobile screen technology. Libra is a compact version of Forma. People interested in Forma won’t regret buying Libra H20. Both of the devices provide identical experience physically. The Libra H2O has a drawback that it doesn’t have type-C charging. Libra has a micro USB charging.

Kobo’s new UI for readers

Being physically same as the Forma, Libra H2O has Kobo’s updated UI. This UI is to create a better e-reading interface. All the upcoming devices from Kobo will feature this UI. The new UI has nothing to do with the visuals of the pages. They will be same as the Forma.

The new UI adds tools to help readers. These tools will help readers to increase their reading comprehension. The UI will add up the feature which brings up smaller page previews. These pages will be there at the top of the page you are currently reading. This will help the reader to instantly switch between pages. People need not flip back or forward in search of the page.
