Co-scripted by Emma, who also stars alongside Emilia Clarke and Henry Golding in the film, wanted to make a film inspired by George’s song ‘Last Christmas’ and even visited him in 2013 at his London home, where he gave her his blessing.
Emma said that the knowledge and emotional scope of George’s lyrics have perpetually surprised Maine.

In a new interview, Emma appeared on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon to talk about working on the film’s screenplay and portraying character Adelia.
Emma explained this rattling producer, David Livingstone, said, ‘Do you want to write a screenplay, a rom-com sort of thing because we need a new Christmas movie based on ‘Last Christmas’.
However, she went on to reveal her husband Greg Wise began production the Last Christmas plot and located “a fascinating, sideways way of telling a different kind of story about the human heart”.

The 60-year-old continued: “He was just the loveliest guy you could imagine. He loved all those themes within the movie, he was dependent on the condition and he had this great social conscience.
“I got very enthused and that we began to write, and then, of course, he had that tragic early death in 2016, on Christmas Day. So we tend to lose him, and I miss him so much.
George Michael ‘turned down’ leading role in Four Weddings and an observance. I would like he was here as a result of I do know I am fond of it as a result of the film’s like being hugged, and all of his music we’ve got 15 of his songs, including a new one at the top is thus cool.
‘Heal the Pain,’ that is my favorite of his songs, it’s am fond of it was written for the picture.
