As Mac Miller died due to overdose of the drug, a man named Cameron James Pettit has been charged for supplying counterfeit pills to Miller which actually resulted in the overdose.
He is 28 years old and was arrested in Los Angeles on Wednesday with regard to Mac Miller’s death on September 2018. Miller’s original name is Malcolm James McCormick. According to the federal court’s documents, the pills that were supplied to Miller consisted of fentanyl. It was given to him two days prior to his overdose.
On September 7, 2018, Mac Miller was not responding to his studio city home. The LA County Coroner’s Office, later on, stated that Miller’s death was destined to occur as it was a result of a deadly combination of fentanyl, cocaine, and ethanol.
As per the documents have stated, Miller himself texted Pettit some days before his death to ask for drugs. Pettit then affirmed that he will bring oxycodone pills, cocaine, and Xanax and would give them to Miller at his recording studio in Los Angeles on September 5th, 2019 early in the morning.
A drug containing the opioid fentanyl is a drug which is 50 times stronger than heroin. It has been in the reports that Pettit had been supplying drugs to Miller for a long period of time already.
After Miller’s death, Pettit had been found sending texts to his friends saying that he will probably die in jail and he should not post anything on his social media platforms just to play safe.
As it has been told by Nick Hanna, US attorney, it is being proven almost every day in the United States of America that fentanyl, when disguised as a genuine pharmaceutical, will act as a harmful killer. As for now, Pettit has been charged for distributing illegal drugs and some more investigation will continue soon.
