Timothée Chalamet, Robert Pattinson and Ben Mendelsohn lead the way for an all-star cast in the latest Netflix film, The King.
Narrating the tale of King Henry V, the new movie was co-written by Joel Edgerton and David Michôd for Michôd, who has helmed the film. The cast features Lily-Rose Depp, Sean Harris, Thomasin McKenzie, Tara Fitzgerald, and Dean-Charles Chapman.
The film was on display at the London Film Festival and Scott Davis and Colin Hart were on the red carpet for us.
Chalamet spoke about the weight of the expectations he is leading in the film, the prospectus of the film when measured to his role in Denis Villeneuve’s Dune and sharing space alongside Joel Edgerton and David Michôd on the project for Netflix.
Hal, the naughty prince, and heir to the English throne is declared King Henry V after his brutal father and king die. Now the still young king must find his way through the palace politics, the war his father left behind, and the emotional connect of his past life.
There is one huge star in Netflix’s largely anticipated new film, The King, and that’s Timothée Chalamet. He is the master — i.e., the king — and at the center of attention for almost the entirety of the 1:52-long trailer that was released a couple of months back. But as fans viewed the highly rated teaser, they found an unexpected surprise in a quick frame of his co-star, Robert Pattinson which back then was still a shocking reveal. His appearance with the long blonde hair also created a lot of chatter amongst the fans.
Since the trailer came out, social media has been in a frenzy with Timothée Chalamet memes and gifs of Pattinson’s new look.
The King will be very soon available on your Netflix screens. It’s time for some Netflix and chill, yo!
