According to The Hollywood Reporter, Ant-Man 3 is reportedly in development. Peyton Reid, who also directed Ant-Man and Ant-Man and Wasp, will return in the third film.

There are no additional nor any details at this time.

Scott Rudd of Paul Rudd was a key player in defeating Thanos, and the reporter suggested that Rudd would possibly revisit his starring role.

There are many characters from Avengers who will get new movies in Marvel’s Phase Four universe, that too after Avengers: Endgame.

According to the reporter, Ant-Man 3 will reportedly follow Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness and Thor: Love and Thunder. It is expected to be shot towards the end of next year or early 2021.

Last summer Disney and Marvel Studios announced their plans for the first leg at two major events: San Diego Comic-Con and Disney’s biennial D23 convention.

Marvel Studios chief Kevin Feige designed all of stage four for fans gathered at San Diego Comic-Con. This included a theatrical release and a Disney + exclusive series.

The Phase Four slate in which Marvel has been unveiled includes: Black Widow (May 1, 2020), The Falcon and Winter Soldier (Fall 2020), The Eternals (November 6, 2020), Shang-Chi and The Legend Off the Ten Rings (February 12, 2021), Vandavision (Spring 2021), Doctor Strange and Multiverse of Madness (May 7, 2021), Loki (Spring 2021), What If? … (Summer 2021), Hawke (Fall 2021), and Thor: Love and Thunder (November 5, 2021). Feige later announced three new shows in D23: She-Hulk, Ms. Marvel and Moon Knight.

The first Marvel film in the endgame universe is Scarlett Johansson’s Black Widow. It will be released on May 1, 2020.

With Reid getting behind the camera, he would be the first director to complete the Marvel Studios trilogy outside of John Watts as Spider-Man (which is technically a Sony film).

Then James Gun, who is coming back to put a hat in his Guardians of the Galaxy saga. Despite Edgar Wright’s late choice to take over the franchise after leaving, the Ant-Man films are branded by Peyton Reid’s signature humor and action.

This is the only fitting that he returns for another round in the quantum realm.

However, this announcement could put a stop to the rumors that are going on to direct the Peyton Reed MCU Fantastic reboot. Fifteen years ago, Reid made an elaborate pitch for Marvel’s “First Family”, and many assumed he would be an option to try another on it.

But now that he is formally returning to Ant-Man 3, it is hard to watch Kevin Feige until Reid finishes with Ant-Man to begin pre-production on the Four Fantastic film. The long wait for the MCU is very much a priority.
