Ric Ocasek, frontman of new surge rock band The Cars, has been establishing dead in a Manhattan apartment. He was just 75.
Ocasek was declared dead after the law was alerted to an unresponsive fellow at the residence. The reason of death has yet to be substantiated, though The Daily Beast notes that an NYPD official said Ocasek seemed to have died from “natural causes”.
Ocasek established prestige as the lead singer of The Cars, who were vital in the birth of the foreign wave movement and had whacks comprising “Drive”, “Good Times Roll” and “My Best Friend’s Girl”.
They were established into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2018, seven years after improving for aa trip and what would be their ultimate album. They had formerly split in 1988.
Ocasek began a solo career following the band’s break and additionally helped behind the scenes, generating tracks for bands including Weezer, Bad Religion, No Doubt, and Le Tigre.

They say that they will miss him forever, and will forever admire the precious times they got to work and hang out with him. They wish for his soul to rest in peace and that they love him.
MTV presenter Kurt Loder wrote that cars were the main band they saw that allowed as the new wave – their synths and leathers were too costly for pure punk. Long gone, of course, and now Ric too, he was a sweet guy.
On Instagram, Red Hot Chili Peppers bassist Flea paid homage by writing with alas as they are unable to believe his demise. He says that he loved Ric Ocasek and he was a very interesting, smart, kind, funny man who made tremendous records.
