Russia banned from using their national flag or national anthem for international sports events Thursday. An official statement was sent out from the Court of Arbitration for Sports. They found Russia’s involvement in a doping scandal in a state.
The ban time became two years from four years. The verdict has been levied from 2019. The ban restricts Russia from hoisting the flag and singing the anthem at international sports events. It will go on for two more years as of now. Russia will face this ban on the FIFA World Cup, 2020, Qatar.

The country will not be representing formally at the Olympic games in 2021. The Olympics was supposed to happen in 2020, but the games got postponed due to the Covid-19 pandemic. The Olympic games in 2022 will be going to happen in Beijing.
The athletes from Russia are going to perform in the Olympic games with a neutral flag. But they have to give enough details proving that they have no association with the doping scandal.
The World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) investigated Russia for scandal
The World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) exposed the doping fiasco. They said that Russia had been meddling with the data of drug tests in Moscow.
Russia will not be able to perform in any championship under the ban. Even the verdict states that Russian President Vladimir Putin can not attend any events, and it goes as well for other officials from Russia.
WADA said in 2016 that the athletes from Russia were using drugs and found their association with a state doping scandal. They were into those programs between 2011 and 2015. Many Olympic athletes of 2012, as well as 2014, also had involvement in the scandal.
According to WADA and Russian Anti-Doping Agency (RUSADA), officials from Russia meddled with the drug tests in the year 2018. The scandal results in a ban against Russia in the sports circuit. Finally, CAS granted a reduction of two years in the ban time.
The ban against Russia will finish on December 16 in 2022.
