Sam Hunt Releases 'Erring With You' First New Music Since DUI Arrest

Sam Hunt released his first new piece of music after being arrested on charges of driving under the influence in November.

Six weeks after his arrest, the 35-year-old singer dropped his new song “Signature Me With You” on Thursday night. A source told ET that he was getting to release a song at the time of Hunt’s arrest, but the song was postponed thanks to legal difficulties.

Hunt’s new tune may be a ghostly reflection on the failed relationship between star-crossed lovers. Hunt sings, “A case of oppression of a little town / your body is baptized / so unhappy / I am your favourite confession.” Incidentally, Hunt features a dubious history, cruising “My past is checked / your pure record / is perhaps in peril .”

Shortly after his arrest, Hunt withdrew from his scheduled appearance at the NASCAR Awards, but appeared at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York, on December 4 at the NY Country 94.7 Stars and Strings event. At the show, Hunt performed “signing with you” for the primary time.

“I get to form another song, which I already thought I had knocked out, but we had to postpone it for a few of weeks,” he told the audience. “It is going to be hereafter Christmas.” A source told ET that Hunt planned to remain short after the vacations as he focused on the upcoming release of his new music. She’s been shutting down social media since her arrest; apart from a couple of tweets promoting her appearance on Dick Clark’s New Year’s Day rocking ‘Eve 2020 Ryan’s Secret and a press release addressing her legal issues on November 22.

At a friend’s show on Wednesday night, I drove home- he wrote. “This was a very nasty and an immature decision; I apologize to everyone who accidentally left the scene. it will never happen again.”
