A University of St. Thomas student has been charged with a federal crime for creating what authorities knew as “hoax bomb threats” to the St. Paul school. Ray Ghansham Persaud, 20, was in remission weekday once authorities copied a decision he created to St. Thomas from his residence in Blaine, in line with the U.S. attorney’s office in Minneapolis.
Prosecutors charged him with making a hoax bomb threat by cellular telephone.
Persaud initial created his threat to the university on April seventeen, in line with the criminal grievance. He called St. Thomas and said there was a bomb on campus, specifically naming McNeely Hall as the site.

Following the allegations, Sullivan said Persaud has been banned from campus and suspended from school while the incident is investigated. If found responsible for the bomb threats, Sullivan said, Persaud will be expelled from St. Thomas.

“I am terribly mitigated that a suspect has been known and in remission which our community isn’t at risk from these hoax threats. Our community is probably going to possess mixed emotions regarding today’s news.
Counseling is out there to students, staff, and faculty who are impacted by this arrest. “Our St. Thomas community has an incontestable charge for each other in response to those threats. I want to ingeminate the importance of maintaining our resilience, solidarity, and support for every alternative as we tend to method this news.”
