Supernatural brings Ruby back from seasons 3 and 4 in the form of Jared Padalecki’s wife Genevieve Padalecki. But that’s not the only surprise in the series’ final episodes. Ruby is one of the most significant characters in 15 years of Supernatural. None other than Genevieve Padalecki was last seen in season 4 in the role of the manipulative demon 11 years ago.

Back then known as Genevieve Cortese, the actress met Sam actor Jared Padalecki on the set, in whom she later married.EW reports exclusively what many Supernatural fans have wanted: Genevieve Padalecki returns as Ruby shortly before the end of the series, in the 13th episode of the 15th season, with the worthy title Destiny’s Child.

Supernatural does not miss the chance, of course, and in the same episode also brings Danneel Ackles back as Jo, wife of Dean actor Jensen Ackles. We saw them in isolated episodes of season 13 and 14.
Sam and Dean are still looking for a miracle in the final episodes until the grand finale. The episode description is:

In search of the only thing that gives the Winchesters a chance against God, Sam and Dean find Jo and a secret that could have died with Ruby.
It is a typical supernatural approach that the real family of the main actors, as their series alter egos, now give Sam and Dean decisive clues in their last battle. Family and meta-humour go above everything in the series.

Anyone who has seen Supernatural from the start knows what impression Ruby made on the entire series, which included 16 episodes (plus one episode as a corpse). She was the first to reveal Sam’s dark and supernatural side by manipulating him to drink demon blood. It was also Sam’s most formative affair in all of the 15 years and ultimately cheated on him.

All her deeds had only one goal: to free Lucifer (yes, Lucifer), which she managed to do at the end of season 4 and which was the start of the legendary season 5 and the originally planned end of the series. Together, Sam and Dean killed Ruby when it was too late. Lucifer was liberated and subsequently haunted Sam and Dean for a decade
