Who knew that more than a decade later we would get to see the cast of the famous hit sitcom altogether in one single frame? We have Tracee Ellis Ross, Golden Brooks, Persia White, and Jill Marie Jones ganging up together for an upcoming episode of Black-ish.
Tracee Ellis Ross stated, “The timing was perfect to be able to bring Girlfriends to a whole new audience. We haven’t all been together camera since the year 2006. Girlfriends kept running for a long time and were important to so many people. Being able to combine the worlds of black-ish and Girlfriends was surreal for me — and so much fun.
These are women I have grown up with and love deeply and it was easy to tap back into the magic of our chemistry and how much we love each other.
The episode starring all our favorites will be telecasted on 8th October and the episode will be titled, ‘Feminisdo can’t’. The official description of the episode states that ‘When Bow learns that Diane and Ruby don’t believe in feminism, she brings Diane to meet the women in her feminist group.
Bow’s friend Abby thinks the group needs to be more inclusive, so Bow invites three of her girlfriends to join. Meanwhile, Junior and Jack help Dre after he realizes he is out of touch with modern-day feminism.’
Tracee will be playing the character of Bow, Diane will be played by Marsai Martin, Ruby by Jenifer, Jack by Miles Brown and other characters are in there too.
The show Girlfriends ran for a long duration of six seasons on the UPN network. It continued for another two seasons on The CW before marking its end in the year 2008. It has been 11 long years since we have seen all the cast sharing the screen space.
