What about the last state?

Set in the 9th century AD, the series is based on the novels of Bernard Cornwell’s The Saxon Stories, which follows two book events each season.

Our protagonist is the son of the enemy of Uhred, the Saxon boy who was raised by the Danes, after which they decide to hold him and make him his own.

However, Uhred was later betrayed and Danes believe his adopted father killed the Danish kingpin Ragnar the Elder. Uhred was forced to move to Wessex in seven Danish-controlled states (which we now consider to be England).

Upon arrival, he offers his aid – including knowledge of Dens’ war tactics – to Alfred, King of Wessex.
