While spending your hard-earned Old School Runescape Gold (OSRS Gold) or hunting for certain loot, you may want to consider a number of items—ones that you may not think are of much use but are actually valuable. With that being said, here is a list of items that many consider being undervalued, and just what advantages they possess.
Beacon Ring
The Beacon Ring can be obtained from the ‘What Lies Below’ quest and surprisingly has a lot to offer. The ring possesses both Magic and Defence bonuses and is available to you for free. If you do need to obtain another ring, then you can do so as many times as you like. Traits such as magic defense can be useful to you, especially as you traverse the Wilderness.
The ring can only be used one at a time, so equipping more than one may be out of the question. However, as mentioned it is easy to retrieve and is free to get a hold of, unlike similar rings such as the Lunar Ring, which you would have to pay for.
Holy Wrench
The Holy Wrench may seem like an ordinary item on the surface, but it can come in very handy, especially if you are looking to get the most out of Prayer Potions. The wrench itself can be obtained during ‘Rum Deal‘, which is a rather easy quest with low requirements for you to gain access to.
Something that is worth keeping in mind is that the price of Prayer is at an all-time high, so the Holy Wrench can be very useful in this situation. This is because the item offers an additional 2% effect for Prayer Potions. So for example, should you gain 30 prayer points from a single potion, the Holy Wrench will grant you 33 points. If you happen to obtain a Prayer Cape, then you’ll find it has a Holy Wrench built in.
Ectophial
The Ectophial is again an item that can be obtained from a low requirement quest that is likewise relatively easy to complete. Acquired from the ‘Ghosts Ahoy’ quest, the item offers a one-click teleport, capable of automatically refilling itself and has a pretty cool animation to go with it.
Perhaps more importantly, it grants players easy access to the area of Morytania. This is especially useful for newer players, as the area inhabits useful training areas, quest areas, the Slayer Tower, and much more!
Crystal Shield
This is an item that you will certainly want to consider, as it is most certainly one of the more underrated items on the list. You can obtain the shield from the ‘Roving Elves’ quest and has some fairly interesting stats to show for it.
The shield boasts a Range Defence of +80, which is the highest in the game for this shield slot. It also offers plentiful Raw Defence bonuses, as well as reasonable Magic Defence. What’s more, as it degrades, it doesn’t lose any of its stats and can be recharged at a reasonable price. The downside of the item is that it does have a negative Magic and Range attack, but it more than balances out with great defense.
Infernal Axe
If woodcutting is your kind of thing, then the Infernal Axe is an item you will want to get your hands on. The axe burns a third of the logs you cut, plus gives you woodcutting and fire making experience. Though the logs being burnt affect profit, it does allow for longer woodcutting seeing as it is quicker to cut with, so it works out as more profit per hour.
To obtain the axe, you’ll need a Smoldering Stone and a Dragon Axe, as well as 85+ fire making to make it. The weapon does degrade slowly, though when it does, you can use a Dragon Axe to make one, which is pretty cheap to get a hold of.
Zamorak Godsword
Once upon a time, this sword would have been a very controversial choice for this list, even as an underrated item. This is because it was considered to be pretty darn weak way back when, though it has now been subjected to a recent buff.
In fact, it gives the same stats as other iGodswords in the game and has essentially high accuracy. The special move Ice Cleave also freezes your opponent for 20 seconds, and coupling this with the aforementioned high accuracy, it can come in quite handy—especially in PvP settings and the Theatre of Blood.
If you happen to come across any of these items, you’d do well to consider investing your Old School Runescape Gold (OSRS Gold). Trust us, while they may seem a bit too easy to obtain at times, they are considered by many to be hidden gems, and will be worth your time in investing and finding.
