‘THE WALKING DEAD’ viewers have been yearning classic character Carl Grimes since his shocking death back in season eight, and now the star has shared some behind the scenes details about his final day on set.
The Walking Dead fans witnessed the horrific demise of Carl Grimes (played by Chandler Riggs) back in season eight in 2017. His departure came as quite a blow to many viewers as he initially didn’t show any signs of being hurt, and his comic book counterpart was still alive and well.
Despite this, Carl was destined to die, leaving his father Rick Grimes (Andrew Lincoln) to go on without him. Recently, actor Chandler posted an image of what looks like his last day on set alongside several cast members.
Most notably, Chandler could be viewed beside his on-screen father Andrew, as well as Michonne star Danai Gurira, and Daryl Dixon actor Norman Reedus. Chandler captioned the image: “Two years ago today. Miss you guys.”
Fans instantly assembled behind the actor, with the same demand: “Petition for Chandler to appear in Rick Grimes movie.” While another fan stated: “This will always be a true crime and crushing heartbreak for me. “Support and love to you always, Chandler. We miss you so much. #TWD #CarlGrimes #TWDFamily.”
Carl has been talking out about the AMC franchise quite a bit recently and has even implied he may arrive in the upcoming ‘The Walking Dead’ movies starring Rick’s final story.
On the topic of arriving in the films, he acknowledged: “I hope so. That would be amazing.”
He also added that It’d be so much fun to get to work with Andy again. That would be great. One of Rick’s most disturbing moments during his time on the show was losing his son, so the thought of the pair reuniting may be too much for the character.
