This 1966 Ferrari 275 GTB ‘A Jack of all trades’
The 60s was Ferrari’s Golden era. At this time the car which was most captivating for people was the Ferrari 275 GTB. This was the first Ferrari car to feature a four-wheel independent suspension. It was also first to have a rear-mounted five-speed transaxle gearbox. This car had a perfect weight distribution.
The Ferrari 275 GTB was the first choice of people with enough money. This car has a 3.3-liter V12 engine. The height of this engine was reduced in order to reduce the overall height of the machine.
At that time this car was available to customers in either steel body or aluminum body. However, a few cars were produced with an aluminum body. About 72 cars were produced with an aluminum body.
The aluminum body cars were a bit expensive. The standard version had a steel body and aluminum alloys. People used aluminum body cars in the race. The interior was completely decorated with leather. The car never lacked in visual aspects. The car was highly demanded because of its versatility, power, rareness, and appearance. This car isn’t available for market sale at present date.
This car is a front-engine car. This is a two-seated car. The previous version of this car produced 260-320hp. Later on, in 1966 the engine was upgraded and it produced 300hp. A long nose version of this car was also introduced in 1966.
This car comes under the class grand tourer. This car was named number 3 among greatest Ferrari’s of all times by Motor Trend Classic. The name 275 GTB was taken from its’ engine displacement of 275cc.
GTB stands for Italian designation ‘Grand Turismo Berlinetta’. The coupe body was designed by Pininfarina and manufactured by Scaglietti. This car has a huge demand today also, but this car is in the vintage collection now. It isn’t available for market sales.
