Watching that deepfake video made us dream big. For those who have missed it, it should be remembered that recently a YouTube user published the reproduction of a scene from Back to the Future (1985), with the peculiarity of having intervened the face of the leading characters to look like Tom Holland (Marty McFly ) and Robert Downey Jr. (Doc Brown).
Since then, and in a recurring manner, Robert Zemeckis’ classic has been in the mouth of the Spidey interpreter, even around serious matters. Could a remake be on the way?
Speaking to BBC Radio 1, Holland felt that such a project should not exist. However, it does not rule out that it has long been on the list of one or more producers.
On the other hand, he emphasized that he would like to film that same deepfake scene – Marty and Doc walking through the school corridors – with Downey Jr. just for fun. He even ventured to propose that the Iron Man interpreter could finance it since he “has a lot of money.”
«I think we owe it to the deep fake because they did an outstanding job. I’m going to talk to Robert and see if we can try to recreate something like that,” said Peter Parker of the MCU. Regardless of the debate about whether a remake should exist, suppose it is already inevitable (with an industry that claims nostalgia as a slogan).
Do you think Robert Downey Jr. and Tom Holland would be appropriate to embody the iconic travelers at the time of Back to the Future?

Holland’s assessment that Back to the Future is perfect is a widespread belief and because of this, there really seems to be no reason why the film should be remade. But as we all know, the need to redo does not always enter the equation.
It is not known whether a new version of Back to the Future will see the light of day again, but it is likely, at least for now, that the only place where the idea’s supporters see Holland is because Marty McFly is in the top.
