Amy Pascal, the veteran Hollywood Producer bags a solo nomination for the Darryl F. Zanuck Award, a recognition given to Outstanding Producer of Theatrical Motion Pictures. With the nomination on Tuesday, she became the fifth woman ever to get a nomination for the Producers Guild Awards.

The Darryl F. Zanuck Award for Outstanding Producer of Theatrical Motion Pictures is known to be the most prestigious award given at the Guild Awards. Amy Pascal is known for the spider-man franchise but it is the “Little Women” she is getting the recognition for.

The story of Little Women is based on four American sisters from the era of the civil war and their journey to beat poverty and societal expectations. Pascal in an interview gave the credit to Greta  Gerwig the director of the movie for her amazing work that made the movie successful.

She further added that she loves the movie and the Guild Award nomination has only proved her learning right. She believes that its important to make movies that you love and not the ones that can be made. Believing and staying with your belief is everything required.

The men dominated industry where the common belief was that only male actors can sweep away box office was given a checkmate with Little Women. It earned more than $80 million within two weeks of release at the Box Office changing the common belief. Speculations were rife that men did not feel the requirement to see the movie even because apparently it does not intrigue them.

The Zanuck Award is not its first nomination. Little Women has received several critical acclaims and nominations this year, like one of the top 10 movies of 2019, 2 nominations at the 77th Golden Globe Awards, five nominations at the British Academy Film Awards.
