Tory Lanez is famously known for his well-thought and hand-picked selections for his Chixtapes mixtapes.
After announcing the release date and cover art featuring, award-winning singer, Ashanti, for his fifth project installment on Saturday (Nov. 2), the accompanying setlist has been unveiled.
To commemorate the 13th anniversary of T-Pain’s hit single “I’m Sprung,” Lanez has sampled the 2005 track for Chixtape 5, according to Hip-Hop-N-More.
He first teased the track in December of last year but it has since been fully produced and titled “Jerry Sprunger” that features the inspiration, T-Pain himself.
While the record is currently only available for international markets, Lanez posted on his Twitter on Thursday (Nov. 7) that the single will release at midnight.
He also posted on his Instagram the pre-order details for the full nostalgic mix that will be available on Friday (Nov. 8) at 12 AM. It will officially unveil on Friday (Nov. 15).
Lanez released his last Chixtape in 2017 with features from R&B singer Jacquees and Nyce, the successful mix paid homage to the Disney Channel Proud Family theme song, Bobby Valentino’s “Slow Down,” Fat Joe, Ashanti, and Ja Rule’s “What’s Luv,” Mario’s “Just a Friend,” Chingy’s “One Call Away”, and more.
The artist released Chixtape 1 in 2011, Chixtape 2 in 2014, Chixtape 3 in 2015, and Chixtape 4 just two years ago.
The Canadian-bred was recently nominated for “Best International Flow” during the 2019 BET Hip Hop Awards. Sampling mostly songs from the early and mid-2000s, the Chixtape 5 tracklist is listed below:
