Season 8 of Vanderpump Rules has arrived. The distribution of the series has definitely changed over the years. Even the OG members of the cast who stayed for the duration of the pump rules are now different. When we first met them, there were around 20 people living in Los Angeles, working as waiters, hostesses, and bartenders to live the big life. Now they’re all relatively famous and doing pretty well for themselves. Take a look at the million-dollar homes that many of them have purchased. But for some reason, Jax Taylor, who has long held the title of a highest-paid cast member, still works from time to time as a bartender at SUR.
Is the casting necessary to work at SUR?
When the show started airing, most of the main actors, apart from Tom Schwartz, were working at SUR. It made sense because the whole premise of the show was to show twenty young people working together in a restaurant and navigating the drama that accompanied being colleagues and friends. Over the seasons, people have been sacked from SUR but have been able to stay in the series. So what are the job requirements to be on Vanderpump Rules?

“Part of the deal is that if they work at the restaurant on the show, they have to work there legitimately,” Lisa Vanderpump told Thrillist. They have a month or two off from the press and appearances promoting the show while it is airing because they do a lot of promotion.
But over the seasons, it seems that this stipulation has become laxer.
Jax is still working at SUR
While stars like Katie Maloney Schwartz, Ariana Madix, Lala Kent and even Taylor’s wife, Brittany, have all left their jobs at SUR, Taylor is still behind the restaurant bar “sometimes”.
He shared in an Instagram Q&A that when he bartenders, he would earn between $ 300 and $ 400 per night. Since Taylor is worth $ 500,000, it doesn’t seem like the reality star needs the extra cash. So maybe he does it for the love of work.
