A few months, Warner Bros revealed that Pattinson had been signed up as the newest Batman, drawing a mixed response ― although the most famous Batman Christian Bale lends support for the “Twilight” actor.
“It’s mad when you think about it,” the 33-year-old actor said in a chat. “I was was far away from ever imagining it was the mere happening of it. I literally do not have any idea on how I’ve got it, at all.”
Not only Pattinson but quite literally everyone else was amused when the casting call was made official. After news came out that he has signed up for the role, several movie lovers various social media platforms and shared their mixed responses.
While the actors said the chatter was “less vitriolic” than he was expecting, he was looking forward to almost thrive on the response.
“It’s much enjoyable or shall we say, easier when you’re an underdog,” Pattinson said. “There’s nobody expecting a lot of you.
Still, there were a whole lot of people who had immense faith in his acting abilities, including his director for ‘The Lighthouse’ Robert Eggers.
Pattinson has carved a reputation in recent years for his brilliant acting in indie films. His co-actor also thought he had the perfect jaw to don the costume of The Dark Knight.
The reboot will be crafted by Matt Reeves, popularly known for directing “War for the Planet of the Apes”. The highly anticipated film is expected to go on floors soon, with filming touted to start late this year or early in 2020. The much-awaited release date will be on June 2021.
