Real Madrid has been fighting hard to sign Neymar Jr. ahead of arch-rivals Barcelona, but it appears their manager Zinedine Zidane has other plans.
Diario Gol report that Zinedine Zidane does not want Los Blancos to push too much for the Brazilian, considering the huge expense, and believes the money can be used more wisely.
The report says that the proposed amount of 180 million euros could be added to, and the revised sum of money may be utilized to make a bid for Mbappe in the next transfer window.
PSG have been unwilling to part ways with the young Frenchman, but Madrid has been after Mbappe for a while.
Mbappe is only nearing his peak potential at the moment and he’s also still very young. Zidane believes he could offer more to Los Blancos than Neymar would despite his obvious class and ability.
The constant injuries, controversy, partying, etc. are all reasons that make Zidane unwilling to sign Neymar from PSG this time around.
PSG supporters vented their anger towards Neymar on Sunday during the club’s opening Ligue 1 game of the 2019/20 season. The fans held banners asking for Neymar to leave the capital.
“Neymar has requested to Real Madrid and Barcelona a salary raise from 30m€ to 38m€ net per year.
It would make him overtake Cristiano as 2nd highest-paid player in the world, only 2m€ behind Messi” – tweeted Tancredi Palmeri
The Los Blancos have spent almost £300 million on new players this summer, with president Florentino Perez initiating a substantial rebuild of the Spanish giants after a poor campaign last term. Eden Hazard has been Real’s top signing after they finally persuaded Chelsea to part with the Belgian. He was signed for an initially reported fee of approximately €100 million, which may arise to €146.1 million due to additional fees and will be earning an expected £400,000 per week.
Paris Saint-Germain has told Real Madrid they will have to offer Vinicius Junior if they want to sign Neymar this summer, according to reports in Spain.
It will be exciting to how the legendary coach revives the team and where Neymar ends up eventually.
