    Call of Duty League, coming in 2020, will caption 12 teams and a $6 million award pool.

    The League declared its “next chapter” on its website on Wednesday.

    “The Call of Duty League is a common, city-based esports league organized of 12 professional committees, representing 11 markets through North America and Europe.

    In its initial season, pro teams contend in 5-versus-5 Call of Duty: Modern Warfare® multiplayer games, exclusively on PlayStation 4.

    The skilled competition will travel from town to town, starring the best Call of Duty® esports players from through the globe fighting for over $6 Million and the absolute prize: The Call of Duty League Championship.”

    Atlanta, Chicago, Dallas, Seattle and committees in Minnesota, Florida and New York are also substantiated for the league.

    Play in the Call of Duty League starts in 2020, but no traditional schedule has been published.

    The Call of Duty League is just about ready to get underway with a new format different from the Call of Duty World League. Call of Duty: Modern Warfare will take the forefront for the inaugural season.

    The Call of Duty League (CDL) will feature 12 city-based teams. The ownership of each franchise went through a bidding process, and some spots valued as high as $25M USD. The Call of Duty League website released an official statement on the upcoming league season:

    Thus far, the North American cities included in the 2020 Call of Duty League are Minnesota, Atlanta, Chicago, Seattle, Dallas, Florida, New York, Los Angeles, and Toronto.

    We can confirm that Los Angeles will feature two teams, whereas all others will only have one. The Call of Duty League will also feature European teams based in London and Paris.

    In addition to the announcement of the participating cities, the CDL made mention of a $6M USD prize pool. This prize pool mirrors that of the 2019 Call of Duty World League season during Black Ops 4.

    Although the prize pool remains the same, the Call of Duty League confirmed that players will receive a minimum salary of $50K USD per year and benefits. No details on specific event dates or locations are available at this time.

    The commencement of the first Call of the Duty League season will take place at some point in 2020.
