Camila Mendes who is a famous Riverdale star said in a recent interview and opened up regarding a dark past which she experienced while she was in her freshman year at the Tisch School of the Arts of New York University. She told that she was sexually harassed during her freshman year in college.

In an interview with the Women’s Health magazine, Camila remembers that she moved from her prep school in Plantation which is in Florida to college in New York and her first year there was a difficult one. She says that she had a very, very bad experience. She also told on the portal that she was roofied by someone who sexually harassed her.

Without providing details about the incident, Camila said that she swore that from then on, every aspect of her life would let her feel safe and comfortable. It is after that incident that she acquired a tattoo above her rib cage in cursive letters which says, “to build a home”. She also says that it makes her recall of her strength that she provided to both her sense of self and the arena around her.

Camila also acknowledged that she wants to be a role icon for her followers to spread awareness around eating disorder recovery which keeps her responsible and motivated. This is something she wishes she possessed in her teen days.

She says that when she was a teenager, there were no role icons when it was about body positivity—it was simply never a thing. Mendes said that being thin was the trend, it is the health that is important and not appearance. She said that she makes choices that are good for her—and not just for her body.
