An actress who briefly appeared in “Captain America: The First Avenger” has been arrested in Kansas for the murder of her mother.
Molly Fitzgerald, 38, was arrested Tuesday in connection with the death of her mother, 68-year-old Patricia Fitzgerald, earlier this month, police in Olathe, Kansas, said.
Officers responded to a private residence Dec 20 to investigate an armed disturbance; upon his release, Patricia Fitzgerald was stabbed and pronounced dead at the scene, while Molly Fitzgerald was taken to a local hospital for minor injuries, according to a media release released Tuesday.
The actress was charged with second-degree murder and is being held at the Johnson County Jail on a bond of $ 500,000, online records show. It is scheduled for him to appear in court Thursday afternoon. It is currently unclear whether he will pursue counsel.
Fitzgerald, according to her IMDB profile, played the role of “Stark Girl” in the 2011 “Captain America” film, which listed her career as a producer, director, and writer. He was named assistant to Joe Johnson, who directed the 2011 Marvel film.
Speaking to ComicbookMovie.com in 2011, Fitzgerald spoke of “a small acting role” in the film, describing the film as “very fun to shoot.”
“Joe Johnson is an incredible director. I learned so much from him about directing,” she later said. “Being part of this product was one of the best experiences of my life.”
The circumstances surrounding Patricia Fitzgerald’s death are unclear. His brother, Gary Hunziker, told The Kansas City Star that his sister was planning to move back to Kansas City after spending many years in Houston, Texas.
“We were shocked,” he said of his sister’s death, “which has nothing to do with the circumstances – what a sister’s loss is.”
According to Ese Bakayam, Patricia Fitzgerald will be held in Gardner, Kansas on Friday.
