China had sent off its space probe named Chang‘e – 4 on the mission to discover the mysterious far side of the moon. This was a first for China and a very significant event in the history of space research in China.
The space probe was strolling around the far side of the moon after landing, trying to discover the stuff around there. The space probe was about to get shut down for a break or a ‘nap’ when it saw something gel-like around it.
The mysterious gel-like substance was found on the surface of the far side of the moon. The Chinese lunar rover- Yutu 2 discovered this on August 28th as on the lunar day 8.
This discovery has people going crazy as to what it could be.

Analysts have said that the mysterious substance is very different from the soil of the surface of the moon. Due to this, now Yutu-2 will go towards the west direction later on after properly looking closer to the gel-like substance.
Some actually do have some ideas on what the gel-like substance could actually be. The vice president of the U.K. Royal Astronomical Society, Mahesh Anand thinks it could be fine-grained volcanic glass.
Mahesh Anand expressed through an email that, “The way that it has been watched related with a little impact crater, this finding could be incredibly exciting as it would show that an altogether different material could simply be covering up underneath the top surface.”
“This would accept even a greater significance if these materials end up having encountered collaboration with water-ice (as the probability of the presence of water-ice in the main couple of meters of the lunar South polar district is anticipated based on ongoing remote detecting informational collection).”
