If you log in to play Fortnite right now, you will not see Fortnite. Or maybe you will. You will see what Fortnite is right now, which is nothing more than a black hole on the screen.

At 2:00 PM today the game’s longspun, madcap plotline ultimately came to an end in a fashion every bit as insane as you might presume, with rockets flying all over the map before the players were sucked into a black hole at the center of Loot Lake and the game stopped.

At least mostly. There is a secret on that loading screen you can check out if you want if you know how to.

Here is what to do: start Fortnite on your platform of choice. Then, enter the Konami code. Because a lot of Fortnite’s player base skews younger, one might not know it.

The game grabbed our minds with the meteor back in Season 3 because of the mystery of it all.

We had no idea what was going to happen, and we checked in every day to see what was going to change. That was not true as the season-long rhythms started to get more codified, but this reminds us why exactly the Fortnite team is so good at what it does.
