Heechul is a member of a Korean boy band, Super Junior, and Momo is a member of a Korean girl band, Twice. Their dating was confirmed on 2nd January by Market News.
The rumors had spread and it was speculated in August but the agencies of Heechul and Momo denied the rumors.
This time the news has been confirmed by Heechul’s label, Label SJ, and Momo’s agency, JYP Entertainment.
They said that they developed feelings for each other after their senior-junior relationship in the entertainment industry. They came close after appearing on a show in 2017.
Momo and Heechul had appeared in various shows. On Weekly Idol, Heechul was a temporary host and TWICE went on the show several times. Momo was also on the show with him called Knowing Bros. Heechul was always impressed by Momo.
Fans had a mixed reaction to the dating news that they woke up to. Most of the fans were excited and happy that Heechul and Momo are dating. Some pointed out the 13 years’ age gap between the couple.
With the news, ‘Momo’ trended on Twitter. Many photos and videos of the couple were posted online. The fans are excited. The videos show how much Heechul is into Momo and the other way around.
Momo, whose full name is Momo Hirai, is from Japan and a member of nine-member TWICE. She was selected through the 2015 reality competition titled Sixteen. She debuted the same year.
Heechul has kept his romantic life private and does not disclose it to the public. It is the first time that he has confirmed that he is dating someone.
The couple is the most star power couple of recent K-pop couples. Both of them are well-known and belong to the beloved idol groups.
JYP Entertainment had a dating ban with was lifted with the news that TWICE’s leader, Jihyo, was dating Kang Daniel who is a singer. The dating news came out in August 2019.
