It seems that the new Denis Villeneuve‘s Dune which was itself the new Quentin Tarantino‘s Once Upon a Time in Hollywood has now inspired James Gunn‘s The Suicide Squad. It basically refers to the fact that all these are hyped projects that always launch a new casting announcement that ends with Y. As the former Doctor Who stars Peter Capaldi has joined the project in an undisclosed manner, James Gunn fetched a new actor from the Cosmos.
It has also been reported by Deadline that the Saturday Night Live breakout and alleged large-dong-haver Pete Davidson are in conversations about a cameo role, which he will most probably shoot during breaks of Saturday Night Live.
The Suicide Squad is said to be not a sequel or a reboot successor for Gunn to the 2016 film, Suicide Squad which had David Ayer. It was one of the largest serious failures for Warner Bros. Gunn is already focusing on this film right now before he shifts his gaze towards the other end of the comic book fence which would lead to a film, Guardians of the Galaxy Volume 3.
The plot of the movie is not yet known. It has been confirmed from the sources that Margot Robbie will return as Harley Quinn, Viola Davis will make a comeback as Amanda Waller, Joel Kinnaman as Rick Flagg, and Jai Courtney as Captain Boomerang. Along with them, the cast will include Steve Agee as King Shark, David Dastmalchian as Poka-Dot Man, Daniela Melchior as Ratcatcher. Idris Elba, Flula Borg, Nathan Fillion, and Taika Waititi have been cast but their roles have not yet been disclosed.
The Suicide Squad will hit the big screen on August 6, 2021. It is a lot of time from now but the movie is worth the wait.
