Why do we bother with a completely abusive reality show that marries strangers at their first meeting? Well, as lifetime asked, why raw?
On the site of the Lifetime hit reality TV series First, people who have never met each other are linked by relationship experts and then meet for the first time on their wedding day.
So First Look is really First Look. And after that, they spend their wedding night and honeymoon getting to know each other.
In the first site launch, the marriage lasts about eight weeks, culminating with a deciding day, where each couple has to decide whether they want to get married or divorce.
If you overextend before MAFS, you are no stranger to the use of marriage and all this enters into drama.
Ever since Season 9 ended, muffs-lovers have been itching to get their hands on another season and, lucky for us, the new season’s premiere comes early in the early 2020s. Here’s what you need to know about Married in First Sight Season 10

When was the wedding in the premiere of First Sight Season 10?
The Wedding at First Sight Premiere on Wednesday, January 1, 2020, at 8 pm ET 10. Lifetime ET.
In the first episode of “First Comes Marriage,” viewers meet five new couples who choose to get married at first glance.
However, you should probably tune in at 7 pm. ET because the premiere event will take place at that time with the Matchmaking Special, where three experts will match five pairs at once.
We hope to meet the romantic Katie and Derek, Jessica and Austin, Taylor and Brandon, Mindy and Zach, and Meka and Michael. Then the journey begins at 8 pm.
Who gets married on first-site couples for the new season?
For the first time in the history of the site, Married Season 10 will feature five different couples from the Washington, DC area.
AVD fans may remember that there were only three pairs in season 1, and four in season 8. 9 were adamant about meeting each other.
Katie and Derek
Katie is a Virginia native and mental health professional with three brothers who also say she is her best friend.
A divorced child, Katie knows exactly what she wants (and doesn’t want) to be in a relationship and marriage and wants to choose her partner carefully because of her upbringing.
Derek is from Maryland – born and raised and comes from a very close military family. His parents also divorced, but Derek, a cyber-security engineer, came from strong sources, with family values at the center.
Those family values have changed their attitude toward marriage today.
Jessica and Austin
Jessica grew up on a Christmas tree farm in Ohio with her parents, older brother and her identical twin sister.
It’s been 35 years since her parents got married and Jessica, a nurse manager, is hoping for long-term love.
She has had many long-term relationships over the years, but none of them worked.
Her first husband was an Austin network technician and grew up in Maryland with her parents and sister.
Like Jessica’s parents, Austin is still together. She is ready for marriage, but Mrs. Wright has not yet been found.
