It has been a long time since we have glimpsed new entries in the Super Mario sequel, and it seems like modern 2D and new 3D games are in the labors.
Nintendo recently announced on Twitter that the firm is hiring for the improvement of a new 2D game in Kyoto and aa modern 3D action game in Tokyo.
While there is no mention of Mario in the hiring ads, it is highly likely that Nintendo is hiring for the development of modern entries in the sequel.

The one single Nintendo committee based in Tokyo is Production Group 8, the advancement studio of Super Mario 3D World, Captain Toad Treasure Tracker, along with Super Mario Odyssey.
As for the 2D game, Nintendo is not developing any 2D series beside Mario and the photo included in the tweet is self-contained as well.
The latest major entry in the sequel is Super Mario Odyssey. The game has been launched on Nintendo Switch two years before, and it is one of the finest entries in the sequel.
The advanced 2D Mario game is Super Mario Maker 2. The game is a development over the initial in every possible way.
Super Mario Odyssey is a decent 3D Mario game. It is. Level design, the means Mario moves and jumps, collectibles, it is all just… Practically excellent.
This is the Mario game we have been wanting for so long, and we already know we are going straight for 100% completion.
Super Mario Maker 2 is one more Nintendo Switch essential. With extra things to create with, more different stages to play and decent online functionality, this is the explicit Mario Maker experience.
Honestly, the game is nice enough to have the story mode bought separately, but the fact that it is bundled with such an influential stage creation tool is tremendous.
